The product consists of 10 x 30 minute films which were originally broadcast on BBC2 as 10 half-hour programmes. The films were previously available from HSE Books in VHS format.
A variety of small businesses show how they have successfully dealt with health and safety issues. Each episode also includes a health and safety surgery where an expert gives advice to a business owner on how to tackle a particular problem. The content has been updated as much as possible to reflect, for example, recent changes to smoking in the workplace and noise exposure limits. However, there remain a number of references to organisations and individuals that have changed over the years but these do not detract from the main health and safety messages.
Topics covered include: "Getting started", "Noise", "Manual handling", "Electricity", "The workplace", "Risk assessments", "Chemicals", "Business Benefits", "Fire and explosions", "Slips, Trips & Falls", "Office safety", "Building work", "First aid and accident reporting", "Transport", "Information", "Manufacturing", "Training and consultants". |
