This document on the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER 1998) has been prepared by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) for the Health and Safety Commission (HSC) after consultation with industry. These Regulations, which deal with providing and using work equipment, are set out in full along with the Approved Code of Practice and guidance material. Since this Approved Code of Practice and guidance was written, some of the regulations have been amended or superseded by other regulations.
