This Code of Practice has been developed by WRc on behalf of the UK Water Industry and the Society of British Water and Waste Water Industries for the Developer wishing to undertake the self-laying of water mains and services on a development site. The Code covers processes and requirements for the self-laying of mains (Part 1), guidance on the design of water mains and services for new developments (Part 2), and the specification of products and materials (Part 3). Above all, the Code recognises that a safe, secure and reliable supply of water is essential for both domestic and non-domestic customers.
